2015 Conference

ALLLM Conference Update

29 January 2015

Unfortunately we’ve not received enough registrations to go ahead with our ALLLM Conference at the end of February. We have cancelled the conference scheduled for Feb 27 – March 1, 2015.

Members of the Leadership Team have spent some time over the last week contacting the membership list of our organization, to try to get a sense of why the registrations have been so low. It sounds like the financial pressures that having been hitting so many of our institutions over the past few years have taken a toll on things like travel and conference budgets. While our members remain committed to the whole enterprise of continuing education, we’re all looking for new ways to do this more cost effectively.

One piece of feedback we received from many folks was that there was strong interest in the “Social Media” focus of the conference we had planned. Several people asked us if it would be possible to participate “virtually.” This has encouraged your Leadership Team to start working on ways to do exactly that – we hope to be back to you within a few weeks with a process by which we could connect through the Internet with each other, and with the workshop leaders who were scheduled to meet with us next month.

We regret that we will not gather in February, and look forward to your input and participation in our virtual and face-to-face events in the future.

Blessings,

(Rev.) Stephen Fetter
